Home of the Boise Air Traffic Control Streaming Audio feed!

UPDATE:  March 11, 2008

My server room remodel has been finished. Well, finished enough to get the ATC feed going again.

I've got the new server online and the software running. At this point it is very much A WORK IN PROGRESS. I'm still working through some issues, but over the next week or so it should continue to sound better as I tune the interface and server.

LISTENING TO BOISE ATC:
The server is broadcasting in ogg. If you're using Windows Media Player, you'll likely need to download the ogg codec (free) from http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/ Or you can use a great free media player like VLC.

Listen Now

**Please remember we are in the process of tuning the server, radio and interface. We'll be continiously adjusting things till we're happy. Some days may sound better than others during this initial setup.

I have some good news, and I have some bad news.

First, the bad news. The feed is down for two weeks. (I hope only one week but allow me some slack).

I've been moving some servers around in a network room overhaul. As a result I've had to pull the feed down until the work is done.

The overhaul/remodel should be done by the 28th. At that point my scanner antenna and such can go back in place.

Now the good news! Next Monday I've got it on the calendar to redo the ATC feed. I've never been happy with the software I've been using to encode the audio, I've wanted to change it for quite some time. The new server and software should be up and testing by March 4th. With this, comes a redesign of this website.

The ATC feed has been on the back burner for quite some time due to life and higher priorities. But, two weeks from now, we should all be listening to the improved feed with a vastly improved website.

as always, comments welcome.
